Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Emerge Salon & Novelty

Oct 7, 2026

Emerge Salon & Novelty held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. at its new home at 1 Old Dover Road in Rochester. The ceremony celebrated the salon’s move from Somersworth to Rochester and a new chapter in its story. Co-owners Delilah Smith and Judy Ring were joined by representatives from the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, local officials, and some of the Emerge team.

After five years in Somersworth, Emerge relocated to Rochester this summer, bringing the same stylists and the same welcoming atmosphere to a larger space with room for more services. The salon’s mission is to give every guest a unique and authentic experience that celebrates individuality and self-expression, and its motto says it simply: “Enter as strangers, leave as friends.”

“Emerge has always been about connection. We want people to walk in, feel at home, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves. Moving to Rochester gave us the space to grow and offer more, and we’re so excited to become part of this community. This ribbon-cutting ceremony was our way of saying hello, and we hope everyone will come celebrate with us on October 8.” said Delilah Smith, co-owner of Emerge Salon & Novelty.

Emerge offers a full range of hair services, including cuts, color, texture, and styling, along with manicures and pedicures, facials, lash and brow services, and waxing. The salon also carries socially conscious goods and offers an event space for special occasions, all housed in an industrial-chic setting. Guests are welcomed with complimentary beverages and snacks.

Emerge invites the community to its Grand Opening celebration on Thursday, October 8, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The free drop-in event sends guests on a pirate-themed treasure map adventure through the salon, beginning at Pirate’s Plunge and following a numbered trail of stops, each with its own activity. The adventure ends at Color Cove with food, giveaways, and live music by local artist Andrea Paquin. All are welcome.
