RMFA to showcase works by Hannah Hirsch in the Carnegie Gallery

Dec 7, 2023

The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce “Make Room”, an exhibition featuring a series of works by Hannah Hirsch in the Carnegie Gallery, at the Rochester Public Library.

Hannah Hirsch, a talented artist hailing from Biddeford, Maine, delves into the realms of obsession, memory, and the transformative power of art. With a passion for painting and woodcutting, she skillfully translates her experiences of anxiety and fixation into vibrant expressions of joy and relief.

Guided by her deep appreciation for fantasy realms and mythology, Hannah’s artwork transports viewers to enchanted worlds where imagination knows no bounds. Through her captivating pieces, she unveils the cathartic nature of creative exploration and the ability of art to transmute negative emotions into positive manifestations.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, Hannah finds solace and inspiration in the company of her beloved cats and supportive husband. When she’s not engrossed in her creative process, she seeks strength and balance through weightlifting, a physical endeavor that mirrors the resilience and determination evident in her artwork.

The exhibition will be on view from December 4, 2023, until February 2, 2024, with a reception planned for January 6, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend. The Rochester Public Library is located at 65 South Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867. Visit www.hannahhirsch.com and www.rochestermfa.org to learn more.

The museum is sponsored by the City of Rochester, Rochester Main Street, Waterstone Properties Group, Bernier Insurance, Meredith Village Savings Bank, Creative Guts Podcast, and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.
