The Rochester Historical Society and Museum will be presenting a program about the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company by Robert Perrault on September 14th at 6:00 pm.
The Amoskeag Manufacturing Company was a textile manufacturer in Manchester. From modest beginnings, it grew throughout the 19th century into the largest cotton textile plant in the world. At its peak, Amoskeag had 17,000 employees and approximately 30 buildings.
