The Rochester Veterans Council is proud to announce the annual Memorial Day Parade, set to take place on Monday, May 27. This event serves as a tribute to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
The parade will commence promptly at 10:30 am from Holy Rosary Church, on North Main Street, announced by a cannon shot. The procession will then make its way towards the historic Arched Bridge over the Cocheco River. Here, a Memorial Service will be held, featuring a performance of Taps by the 18th Dover, 2nd NH Regiment, Revolutionary War reenactors. Following the service, the parade will continue down North Main Street, through the heart of downtown, and onto South Main Street, concluding at the Rochester Common. Attendees can then participate in the ceremonies at the Field of Honor.

Participation in the parade is open to all, with no entry fee required. However, all entrants must submit an application to be included in the parade lineup. Interested parties can find more information and submit applications via https://brand.page/rochestermemorialdayparade or [email protected].
Reflecting on the significance of Memorial Day in 2024, Mayor Paul Callaghan said, “We owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in serving their country. We can never fully repay that debt to their families and loved ones, but we must honor their sacrifice with a day of recognition.”
Please note that there will be rolling road closures along the parade route. The Rochester Police Department and parade attendants will be on hand to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the event. Organizers ask that all attendees remain alert and follow directions.
